The Certified Teacher Myth: Wall Street Journal

I would guess my opinions on state certification of teachers is not hidden, so maybe I like this article for all the wrong reasons. But I still like it. I cannot respect the notion that something as personal as teaching can be regulated by pure abstractions.

My wife and I still laugh about her being taught how to run the old movie projectors at teacher’s college.

  1. Certification for public education is banal. And useless. Mostly it’s about all the acronyms and abbreviations you have to know. I wrote this to sing at the going away party for a principal who was leaving our school to work at an elementary school:
