A software program I like!

The first thing you need to know about me to grasp the significance of this blog entry is that I believe Bill Gates is the Anti-Christ and that Microsoft is the Whore of Babylon.

Nevertheless, yesterday our IT guy installed Office 2007 professional on my computer and I have discovered Onenote. If you do research, think in anything like a non-linear way, write, or otherwise need to organize thoughts and information, you need this software. I have no idea how much it costs, but just today I have been able to sort out a number of projects and events in a way that Excel, Word, and other programs simply can’t do for me.

If you are highly analytical, you might be satisfied with standard software like Word and Excel. But if you are a global thinker with multiple questions going through your mind all at once, this is the tool for you. I would say that almost every head of school or teacher could make great use of it if they don’t already have something else.

It hurts to say it, but “Way to go, Microsoft.”

I wonder who they copied this from.

Sorry. I couldn’t help it.

  1. If you like OneNote on a typical PC, you’d really like it on a Tablet PC. With the tablet, you can use a stylus to write on the screen, making the user experience more like using a paper tablet. It also has a keyboard, so you can switch, for example, from using the stylus for brainstorming and the keyboard for formalizing your results.

    • I agree John. I’d love to get a table PC, but it’s not within budget just yet. I can imagine it improving my productivity that much more.

      Thanks for affirming my suspicion.
