The People Principle

Again, you simply can’t think efficiency with people.  You think effectiveness with people and efficiency with things.  –Steven Covey, 7 Habits

A little bit later Covey notes how common management systems are

out of harmony with the principle that people are more important than things.

At the heart of education is the human soul.  At the heart of classical education is the logos (logoi), the idea (ideas) that serves to shape the soul.  Education is about people, not things.  What should come of it when we lose sight of the principle that “people are more important than things“?

  1. Thanks for posting what I consider to be a very timely idea. No thing has ever hurt; people do all the time.
